We're now V Kool!

Well, finally things have been happening in Westwood world once more!  I have joined the choir at The British School, which was rather enjoyable - took me back many years.  All was good, although rather odd singing Christmas carols in this heat...

Our Thursday morning (weekend day 1) was spent having 'V Kool' put on the car windows.  It's a film which absorbs the heat and reflects most of the UV rays so that the car doesn't get quite so hot.  Good so far, especially given the heat seems to have cranked up again.  I left Joe dutifully sorting this while I went with a couple of others to the 'Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque'.  I'm rather surprised it took me so long to find out that it isn't closed on a Thursday after all (despite numerous tales that it is!).  Anyway, a very spectacular place - well worth a look if ever you come to visit.  I shall try to attach a couple of pics for a taste of the experience.  That's my attempt at a sophisticated pose...

More snorkelling at the beach in Sheikh on Thursday avo (I wonder when this will feel normal?!) before heading home for a quiet and early night.

Friday was spent on a 'dhow' and it was another breath-taking experience.  We saw a pod of dolphins on the way out (some pics more successful than others) before anchoring for an afternoon of more scuba diving and kayaking.  The snorkelling here is just fantastic.  We saw some truly awesome shoals of fish along side some jelly fish (not stingy ones apparently, although I was not going to test that theory!).  Fortunately, the snorkelling was more successful than the kayaking - people seemed to think it amusing to tip me off.  Hmm!

Yes, you can imagine why I am pulling such a face while Joseph grins can't you!!
Having problems uploading the pics, so will try another time.  People coming for dinner tomorrow, so must go and do some more cleaning.
